BEER CHASE SERIES UPDATE

We hope you remain safe and well during these extremely challenging days.  With these challenges we are all facing together, we have been humbled by the outpouring of love and support for this Cascade Relays family.  This is unprecedented, this is emotionally draining, this is confusing and information available is oftentimes conflicting  – but if we all express empathy and shower kindness to those in our family and in our community – we can survive this and emerge even stronger.  Be kind to others and ring more cowbell.

 

We are in full support of the recommendations of the Health Authority to safely protect our communities.  We have a long road ahead of us to reach our “new normal,” and whether sporting events and large gatherings will be possible anytime later this year is still uncertain.  Our team is doing our best to make decisions in a timely fashion, based on the best available information.  At this time, the rescheduled date of Bend Beer Chase on September 26th and Boulder Beer Chase on October 4th is 4.5 months from now and much could change on this path to our “new normal.”  Therefore, our staff remains committed to preparing for an event on those dates, while also continuing to recognize many of your teammates might not feel comfortable or be able to participate, and thus we continue to provide options to you and your team.  We appreciate your understanding of the challenges to this dynamic and complex world we are experiencing together.

 

At this time all team captains should have completed the postponement form.  Those teams that did not complete the form were automatically registered for the rescheduled event date.  Please note that selection is final. Due to our need to confirm final participant numbers and place preorders with our vendors, your team’s selection is final.  We are unable to accommodate selection changes after May 15th.  If we are unable to hold the events on their rescheduled dates, all registered teams will be automatically registered for the virtual event.

 

HIRE-A-VOLUNTEER (HAV) FEES & DEADLINES

  • For those teams deferring to 2021 or 2022 or transfer fees to CLR24,  100% of paid HAV donations will be transferred to your team’s future registration.
  • Teams may request their Hire a Volunteer donation to the Cascade Relays Foundation be refunded.  Please fill out this form to request a refund of your donation, providing your team name and mailing address, and we will process your refund immediately.
  • The HAV donation deadline for Boulder Beer Chase has been extended to September 1, 2020.  The donation amount increases to $200 after September 1st, 2020 if we have not received your check.

 

We ask for your solidarity in this difficult situation.  This weighs heavily on all of us and these decisions are certainly tough.  If we all give a little, we’ll be able to survive this pandemic and hopefully continue to produce these events for our community to the benefit of all.
