Bend, Oregon

Cascade Lakes Relays

Our premier relay event of the year, the Cascade Lakes Relays are a Bend, OR summer tradition since 2008.

A Bend, OR Summer Tradition

Oregon’s most challenging running relay course starts in the Cascade Mountains at Diamond Lake Resort, travels through the Oregon Outback and rural agricultural country, and winds back to the Cascade Lakes Highway, around Mt. Bachelor and into the resort community of Bend. You’ll see more cows than semi-trucks and smell pine trees instead of exhaust. If you are seeking an adventure where you can push your limits and rediscover your senses, then this is the event for you and your team.

Cascade Lakes Relays offers something for everyone with 3 events: CLR 36, CLR 24 and the Walk Relay.

Registration is now open!

3 Distance options. One big party.

CLR 36

216.6 miles | 36 legs | 8 to 12 runners

The full Cascade Lakes Relay experience. Run all the way from Diamond Lake to Bend.

CLR 24

132 miles | 24 legs | 8 to 12 runners

A bit less distance, but still all the fun. Run the same course as CLR36, but start further along at Silver Lake.

Walk relay

94 miles | 18 legs | 6 to 12 runners

Our shortest course option for those keeping it party pace. Walk the same course, but start at Willow Butte.

How it works

  • Grab your favorite group of people you’d want to party all night with. You’ll need about 6 – 12 people depending on which distance you’re doing. Decide who has the best leadership material and assign them Team Captain. Short on friends? No problem! We can match you to a team and help you make some new (cooler) ones.

  • Get creative! Wherever you fall on the party to competitive racer spectrum, having fun is still a top priority 😉

  • Don’t delay – sign up here to officially reserve your spot!

  • Again, Cascade Lakes Relays can be as competitive or relaxed an experience as you want. If you’re in it to win it, we love that! If you’re just here to have fun with your friends, hang out, meet people, drink beer, etc., we love that too!

Either way, some running or walking fitness will likely make your experience a bit better, but hey… what do we know. Wherever you fall on the party to competitive racer spectrum, you are welcome here.

  • Keep your eyes on your inbox and this website for all the latest info as raceday approaches!

  • Many of our participants love to get into the spirit by decking out their van or other team vehicle. That could be as simple as some car paint and signs, or a full on parade-style pirate ship built on top of a truck (this actually happened). Check out our photo galleries for inspiration!

  • The weekend we’ve all been waiting for is here! Soak it all in.
