I Like Pie – The Perfect Slice Challenge!
Think you’ve got the best pie in Bend? Prove it! Whether you’re a seasoned bakery pro or a home baker with a secret family recipe, we want to see (and taste) your masterpiece.
1. Choose Your Category
Home Baker: For the flour-dusted legends of the home kitchen. Commercial Baker: For the pros who get paid to make dough- literally.
2. Pre-Register Online
Fill out the official registration form before the event. This ensures your pie gets its very own contestant number (and avoids us calling it “that one with the weird crust”).
3. Pie Drop-Off
Bring your pie to the designated Perfect Slice Table at Riverbend Park between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. sharp. We will not be responsible for your pie plates.
4. Labeling
Upon check-in, your pie will be issued a contest number — no names, no bakery logos, no secret winks at the judges. Keep it anonymous so we can all pretend this is serious business.
5. Judging
Judging starts promptly at 9:00 a.m, Winners announced at 10:00 a.m. (and yes, there will be applause). Criteria: crust, filling, appearance, and overall “make-you-wanna-dance” factor.
6. Public Sampling
After judging, everyone’s invited to taste!
7. The Grand Title
Winners in each category earn the coveted title of Perfect Pie Hero — bragging rights included
