If you’re not familiar with Ablis, a CBD infused beverage company, let us fill you in on this innovative business and product. All the products are THC free and consciously prepared to experience the best medicinal qualities. Along with beverages they offer topicals and tinctures as well. Jim Bendis, a craft-spirit pioneer, developed the idea in 2014 knowing that CBD is going to be an active ingredient in many consumer products. Ablis is a recovery product because it can help certain individuals with anti-inflammatory and pain-relief. They recommend CBD shots after a long run to help reduce aches and pains and to aide in sleeping.
The newly formed Crater Lake-Ablis team headed up by Kristen Buwalda, came together by happenstance. The non-distillery members are either friends of theirs or from various athletic activities they participate in. They have decided on a Power Rangers theme…an old school classic. We are stoked they shared some thoughts about running and what they are looking forward to at The Bend Beer Chase.
Kristen Buwalda, General Manager at Bendistillery says, “I can’t survive without running, and nothing rounds out a good, cathartic run like a bunch of friends and some ice-cold beer. I’m looking forward to participating in a relay that I’ve only served beverages at for the past couple years!”
Kat Russell, a fellow mama and runner, says, “I’m a Mom and athlete, I loved running before being a mom and trying to get back to my sweet spot. Relay races are all about coming together to achieve a goal and have an unforgettable experience. Oh, and have some good beer too!”
Nick Jaindl, a Distiller, says, “I can’t hold a pace but I can hold a beer. “
Anthony Hansen, the Tasting Room Manager, says, “I didn’t know I could run, but they told me I should mom-power walk! As a swimmer, I got volunteered to do not one, but TWO legs of this crazy race.”
Christina Schueler, who is a badass ultimate frisbee player who plays in a league with Kristen, says, “There are only two things that truly motivate me to run–chasing frisbees and hanging out with awesome people like the Crater Lake Spirits crew.”
Elise Miller, who is friends with Christina and a fellow runner, says, “I’m not a hardcore runner, but I love a good relay.”
We are so pleased to have the team participate this year and cannot wait to hear about their experience after the race. Good luck team!
